The listed tour takes you on the best adventure of Kenya’s coastal region, giving you a taste of the coastal culture and cuisine, which is embedded with hundreds of historical sites such as Mombasa Old Town and Fort Jesus, the hiking adventure at Shimba Hills ending in a soothing swim at Sheldrick Falls and an exceptional beach experience at Wasini Island where snorkeling, scuba diving, and a dhow tour awaits you
DAY 1 – Nairobi- Mombasa
Pick up from Hotel or Airport and embark on your tour to Mombasa via the SGR. You will be transferred to Mombasa Old Town. It is reminiscent of the days when Arabs heavily influenced the town and its culture. It is best explored on foot.
Next up, explore the Portuguese-built Fort Jesus Museum, which displays various artifacts from the 16th century since it served as a transit point for the slave trade and commodities.
You will be privileged to see the Mombasa ‘Tusks’ and take memorable photos. The Tusks are a symbolic representation of entrance into the heart of the town. The Tusks’ were built to commemorate the visit of Queen Elizabeth to the city in the year 1952. Later in the afternoon, you will be driven to Mombasa Marine Park.
At 5:30pm, we’ll drive you to Diani. Check-in at the Diani Sea Resort for Dinner and overnight accommodation.
DAY 2 – Kisite Mpunguti
After an early breakfast, kick off the Kisite Island tour at 7:00am with a one-hour drive to the historic fishing village of Shimoni. En route, there is a beautiful view of the coastal landscape. At Shimoni, indulge in the traditional Arabic-style motorized dhows to sail you to Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park. Exciting activities include; marine life watching, birding, scuba diving, and snorkeling. It is exciting when whistles fill the air as the dolphins emerge from the deeper waters and swim towards the dhows.
After thoroughly enjoying yourself, sail to Wasini Island. Sumptuous Swahili-style seafood lunch shall be served in Wasini restaurants. Thereafter visit the traditional village and the island caves.
The organizers of the Pilli Pipa Dhow will drop you back at Diani Sea Resort at around 6.30pm.
Having finished exploration, we transit to Diani Sea Resort, arriving for dinner and night accommodation in the evening.
DAY 3 – Shimba Hills National Reserve
Wake up at 7:00am to a fantastic breakfast, coastal style.
You will then drive 40 minutes for a game at the Shimba hills National Reserve at 8:00am. The Reserve hosts the most significant number of African elephants, the Sable Antelope, known for their long horns and tufted tails; Buffalos and bushy-tailed mongoose are also common.
We can have an a la carte lunch at any of the nearby lodges.
In the afternoon, embark on a 2-hour guided leisure walk to Sheldrick Falls. At this time of day, the sun is highest, so ensure you carry a hat and a bottle of water and put on good walking shoes. The sound of rushing water is refreshing and calming. You can also enjoy a dip or a shower in the calm, clean waters of this stunning waterfall, especially after a 2-hour walk in reserve. Delight in the gorgeous sunset as you trail back to the awaiting vehicle for onward transfer back to the Diani Sea Resort.
You can grab a sundowner by the beach bar at the resort.

DAY 4 – Diani to Nairobi
Wake up to a leisurely breakfast. Have a late check-out at 11.00 am. A representative from our agency will transfer you from your Diani Sea Resort to Ukunda, where you will take your flight to Nairobi. If you are staying in Nairobi, we’ll arrange your airport-hotel transfer at no extra cost.
